7:00 PM Gather at Buffalo Spirit Lodge for sunset and full moon rise; 7:30 The circle begins outdoors in our Spirit Power Circle. We call our guiding spirits and animal powers from all the directions, drumming, rattling and chanting together to set the tone, heightening our energy for the arrival of the Elder Spirits. We bask in their palpable presence, hear their songs, music, and stories within and around us, and feel the transformational healing power. Group singing, drumming and sharing of experiences close the circle; 9:00 (approximately) Socializing and potluck sharing.
In this age of evolution from dualistic to unified consciousness, we are summoned to nurture the Earth and heal our deepest sense of separation borne through lifetimes of travel in this physical realm. Our wise ancestor spirits, the Ancient Grandmothers and Grandfathers, conduct us deeper into our true source of divine power within. Since Penelope was initiated into the circle of the Ancient Grandmothers, she has worked with these powerful, compassionate, loving, and delightful elder spirits for guidance and healing. The Ancient Grandfathers help hold the circle of energy and conduct the wisdom and healing power of the Ancient Grandmothers. These authentic shamanic root circles have deeply touched many souls and places wherever they have been held around the world.
Enjoy the peaceful, magical Ponderosa National Forest setting, surrounded by the Ancient Ones in tree, rock, and sky. You are welcome to bring sacred objects to add to and gather the circle’s healing power, plus a drum, rattle, or other musical instrument. Chairs are provided, but please bring a folding chair, if you have one, to ensure we have enough seating in the circle. (Optional) Bring a blanket or pillow for individualized comfort, and a potluck snack or drink to share.

I was completely transformed by the Grandmothers. My chronic anxiety has disappeared.
I was skeptical about things like channeling, but since I went to the Ancient Grandmothers gathering months ago, the Grandmothers have never left me. I have this feeling of a solid grounding in love in myself and a strength I didn’t have before.

Chant-throbbed drums, yips,
Moans, unknown language, hymns.
Shaking and shaking
To crack up this casket, lift
Light into ribs nailed flat,
Black, and blasted.
Unwind the winding cloth!
Grandmother has taken my
hand.
She drowns me in life, reveals
The unexplored shore –
swim darlings, swim!
